The London and Midlands Laughing Cows comedy clubs have now changed their names to MY Comedy. The nights will put to good use my considerable experience garnered from both running and setting up successful shows for Laughing Cows in London, Birmingham, Leicester, Coventry and Berlin.
The nights will also continue to provide solid comedy entertainment in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Acts lined to perform over the next few months include some of the best female comics currently working on the UK circuit such as Zoe Lyons, Shazia Mirza, Jo Enright, Bethany Black, Mrs Barbara Nice and Jen Brister.
MY Comedy Nights will also continue to raise money for various charities. The London night will continue to raise money for the Helen Bamber Foundation (www.helenbamber.org). Since 2010 I have organized a series of benefit nights for the charity in association with the actor, Emma Thompson. The nights have raised almost £20,000 and have featured comics such as Jo Brand, Jenny Éclair, Hattie Hayridge, Lucy Porter, Shelagh Martin, Angie McEvoy, Jade the Folk Singer and Shazia Mirza. The Birmingham show raises money for Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid (http://bswaid.org). . So far we have raised over £3,000 for the Birmingham charity.
MY Comedy London will run the first Thursday of every month at the Retro Bar, 2 George Court, WC2N 6HH. Doors open at 19:00 with the show starting at 20:00. Tickets are £8/£6.
MY Comedy Birmingham will run the second Wednesday at the Kitchen Garden Café, 17 York Road, Birmingham, B14 7SA. Doors: 19:00. Show: 20:00 Tickets £9/£7.
