Maureen Younger: Always Younger

Maureen delves into the joys of being middle-aged and single, while reminiscing at previous faux-pas such as the time she got sacked in Germany for not epitomising a traditional Japanese woman.

Maureen also ponders why she never sees women like her on screen and in the process comes to the conclusion that some classic French films are truly awful.

If you have been lucky enough to see her perform you will be fully aware of just how funny and infectious this woman is Time Out

  3. Great venue with great food and well priced drinks. There is always a great line up always held together by the incredible glue; Maureen Younger who comperes the night with both with and electricity.

  4. Fantastic night out, always a great line up of comedians and top compering from Maureen Younger who takes audience participation to new limits (or maybe beyond them 😉 ). Couldn’t recommend it more highly.

  6. Hi Maureen

Just a short note to let you know how much I appreciate the MY nights at the Kitchen Garden Café and it’s such a shame that they are only once a month.

These nights are a brilliant way to relax and unwind, even if we have to “pit out wits” against your comments!!

Your varied choice of female comedians is always first rate; my only disappointment is you have yet to secure Rhona Cameron. Even the newbie comedy nights are always good fun, if not always for the all the right reasons.

Your foresight in thinking there was a need for such nights was absolutely correct and has definitely paid off as you must have noticed you have a core audience of regulars, who despite your caustic comments still return! MY nights are completely different to any other comedy nights I have attended; it has a fun and friendly atmosphere which spans the generations, having brought my daughter and an older relative in the past. Of course, I think you are aware that you are the main attraction of the evening, everyone comes along wondering if they will be picked on, but still they come!

So keep up the good work and see you on 13th.

    Kind regards.
    Bridget.

  9. What a great night! I was a bit apprehensive about going alone, but there was no need.
The only time I stopped laughing was in the interval. I’m exhausted!
I cannot recommend this gig highly enough. It is brilliant, with 3 fantastic comedians, brilliant MC Maureen Younger all for £10. The venue is gorgeous and intimate and the crowd is warm and receptive. Get down there for a night packed with laughs, and all on the 50 route too! A wonderful way to spend a weeknight 😊

  10. Oh What a Night! We are regulars at Maureen’s Comedy events at the Kitchen Garden and the nights just get better and better! Maureen is a fantastic host ! Setting the warmth and laughter from the minute she walks on stage! Barbara Nice was , as always, unbelievable funny! She too just gets better and better! Just so great to see so many funny and fabulous female comics in a truly lovely venue. Best £10 you will ever spend!! Thank you Maureen for organising such amazing nights and for all the laughter!
